Dealing with the heartbreak of losing a cat can be devastating. Growing up, I experienced my fair share of pet loss. One of our cats even had a litter, and we sadly lost many of the kittens. It's one of the worst experiences, I can tell you.

You see, with grief, the only thing you want to do is curl up in a ball and cry. But I'm here to tell you that there are many helpful ways to get through grief. Time is the best healer, but when we feel like all the pain is happening now, it doesn't seem to help.

So, what can you do? With a staggering 370 million cats as pets worldwide, there is some comfort in knowing you are not alone. Many have experienced pet loss, and many have shared their knowledge on how to cope with losing a cat.

Stay Busy After Losing Your Cat.

While it is part of the process to think about your cat. Too much can just fill you with too much sadness. A little break for your mind is important. Try activities like exercising or focusing on work. Something to take your mind off it for a little while can help with pet loss.

Speak to others that may have gone through losing a cat. Anyone who can understand your situation can be nice to be around. When your're feeling a bit out of whack, a calm voice or shoulder can make all the difference. Sometimes reminiscing on all the good times is enough to help. Knowing all the good times can outweigh the heartfelt agony of pet loss can help. Looking back on all the loving moments or listing some of them can really help with healing your heart after a pet loss.
